Born in Spring, 1999, Dorian is a Las Vegas native who formed a love of music early on. Her middle and high school band programs provided an eclectic and exciting experience that exposed her to many forms and styles of music. This experience has branched beyond her professional life, as Dorian met her husband while they were in Marching Band at their high school.
After high school, Dorian attended the Brigham Young University where she majored in Music Composition. Her time at the Y encouraged her to expand her musical vocabulary as she worked with unique ensembles and collaborated with other students. Perhaps most impactful, during this time Dorian spent a year assisting and learning under opera composer Lisa DeSpain.
Since graduating Dorian has remained in Utah where she continues to produce and teach music. Dorian is the director of the Beehive Rainbow Band, Utah’s Pride Marching Band. Additionally, she works as marching band and indoor drumline instructor with local schools.
Dorian uses both She/ Her and They/ Them pronouns.
